The Lake Tahoe Nordic Festival is an event that will cater to one of the fastest growing cross-country regions in the United States. While it is no secret that Lake Tahoe is a famous alpine skiing destination, we are also lucky enough to possess world-class Nordic skiing. With multiple cross-country ski resorts and hundreds of kilometers of groomed trails, Lake Tahoe serves up some of the finest Nordic skiing in the United States.

Parking & Shuttle

You may park at the North Tahoe High School. Northstar will have a shuttle that will bring folks from the North Tahoe High School parking lot on Saturday from 9am-11am and 4pm-5:30pm. If folks cannot wait for the return shuttle they can walk or ski back along the trail to the parking lot.

8am-3pm: On-snow demo showcasing the latest and greatest in Nordic equipment from all industry brands.
9am: 20km Group Ski with Olympian Marcus Nash – special course groomed by TXC as a special occasion (donation for Junior Olympic Team requested)
9am: Beginner’s Classic Skiing Clinic
9am: Beginner’s Skate Skiing Clinic with Tim Hauserman of Tahoe Cross Country
10am: Winter Wildlife Survival Strategies - Natural History Snowshoe Tour with Tahoe Institute for Natural Science
10am-11am: Sierra Watershed Education Partnership (SWEP) our Winter Discovery Center partner will be providing a variety of science exploration stations in the yurt
11am-1pm: Kids XC Ski Program (skate and stride) Ages 4 and up
11am: Intermediate/Advanced Classic Clinic with Olympian Glenn Jobe
11am: Guided Snowshoe Run with Atlas Snowshoe Athlete Peter Fain (tips and techniques provided)

Our Partners

Working in partnership with Tahoe Cross Country and multiple Nordic industry leaders, Alpenglow Sports has created California’s first-ever Nordic Festival. The Lake Tahoe Nordic Festival will be a 3 day event that is designed to cater to the local ski community and attract Nordic enthusiasts from a regional scope.

The Lake Tahoe Nordic Festival will bring out the entire Nordic community to celebrate this great sport. Our goal is to offer something for everyone: from the complete beginner looking for a first lesson, to the veteran racer looking for the best equipment available, to the trail runner looking for a great snowshoe to help them stay fit in winter.
